Hawkeye, Nathaniel Hoyt Receive Gold Horizon Award March 8, 2023
Hawkeye received a Gold Horizon Interactive Award in 2022 for the ARUP ‘Climate Changes Everything’ Microsite.
The category: Corporate & B2B
The ARUP Climate Sustainability microsite explores environmental solutions such as Clean energy, Decarbonised transport, Net zero and resilient places, and Working with nature. ARUP is transparent about every action required for us to hit our 2030 net-zero target. After a full internal review of their business processes, they determined that a 30% reduction in emissions was required to hit net-zero.
Nathaniel Hoyt built the microsite with the GSAP library to create an interactive experience highlighting ARUP’s focus. By tying animations to a user’s scroll, he was able to manage the experience and display impactful statements in sequence. Hawkeye’s resources included designs by Alex Pierce and 3D representations of a sustainable community, which Nathaniel Hoyt leveraged with interactive info bubbles.
Hawkeye’s development team included Nathaniel Hoyt and Jeff Tidwell.
“I love crunch-time. With resources and timelines whittled down to a two week sprint, the entire project from design to development to QA was crunch-time.”, Nathaniel Hoyt stated, “It was fun bringing in GSAP to handle the animations and produce a great experience in such a short amount of time.”
